[REJECTED] Tag alias: robot_ears -> mechanical_ears

-1. While you consider expanding the definition by using the broader "mechanical" term instead of robot, I think it is better to be able to differentiate sci-fy style robotic ears from potential other types of mechanical ears, particularly from those that might have some sort of clockwork or similar style design.

Furthermore I think there is worth having some sort of division between mechanical version of organic ears (which is currently the bulk of the mechanical_ears tag) versus robotic/electronic constructs that don't look like organic ears, but are understood to likely function as them (the bulk of robot_ears). This isn't to say we can't have a single catch-all tag for all mechanical ears, just that we need some tag setup to allow divisions.

I honestly can't think of any of the examples you're giving,
and looking at the images, they just look like the same kind of equipment, only difference being that some can be moved while others are ornamental.
Without some more concrete examples, both tags seem to refer to the same thing to the uninitiate. If you can provide some @NWF_Renim?

For the first part it's not something that is really present at the moment, as everything so far under the tag is generally electronic in nature (robotic), with the only exception being post #2856442 which is being mechanical and non-electronic. I guess what I'm trying to say with the first part is that robot ears should inherently be electronic in nature. Switching the naming to mechanical would broaden the idea of what fits under the tag to include things that are not electronic in nature. That opens the door for the tag to become filled with images in the future that are distinctly different from the rest, which could make searches harder for either electronic or non-electronic style machine ears.

As for the second part it would be between:
Robot ears (electronic in nature): post #1931650, post #2994115, post #1739864
Mechanical versions of organic ears: post #2891078 (bunny ears), post #2924071 (cat ears), post #2866934 (serval ears)
As for a better naming and to fit current exist tags, the "mechanical version of ears" should probably have their own tag of "mechanized ears" to be line with the mechanization tag (taking something organic and making it mechanical). This tag could still imply whatever catchall tag could be crated for machine ears, but it's definitely worth having the ability to differentiate it in some manner from the type that just look like equipment.
