pretty sure ppl almost always use quick balls in previous gens as well when it existed since its 5x catch rate on first turn which is basically 100% catch rate on a good chunk of pokemon.

I never was able to find where to buy the quick balls in SM. Alot of the special pokeballs are 1 time deals, like the moon ball. From what I remember you get 10 quick balls and that was all I ever had.
The whole calling for help thing is annoying as shit. The damn pokemons never appear when you need them to(for EV training) and appears way too much when trying to catch a certain mon.
Once was EV training on an Aquanid and had it at 1hp and it called for help 8 times but no one appeared at all. End up deciding to catch it cause I felt bad for it(I named him Josh. He was a lonely type) and that was when the hordes came in.
There's a simple solution to this: Status effects stop summoning of help.
I always had a Magnetite (or its evolutions) with Thunder Wave handy to paralyze those jerks whenever I came across something I wanted to capture.
GastlyYes!Gastly appeared!Nghhh...I have had it with you...!!All right, now to throw a Pok-...Gastly called for help!Damn. Take out the left one!The wild Gastly fainted!Had a bit of an interruption, but now I can...
