Pepe is his nickname in game and the fandom because nobody is actually gonna remember how to spell his full name
The second alias is for his real name.

Since I've been requesting these BURs frequently (topic #19887, topic #20046) ​I figured opening a thread about the topic and asking for help with this is not a bad idea.

There are a lot of Fate character tags that could use aliases to make them easier to find. We use a lot of servant names that are outdated or that are in the Japanese name order, making finding the tags more of a hassle than it needs to be for the casual browser.

I figured taking them on one by one would be a better way of dealing with this issue. Any help would be appreciated

I think the name is Child Gilgamesh also because he's originally from F/HA and he's called Ko-Gil there, literally Child-Gil. Personally I'd reverse the alias but it's fine either or, probably.

+1 to this. A character's main tag should always be whatever they're called in game.

Reversed the alias. But he is called Gilgamesh_(child) in game.

I would like some explanation for the downvotes though. What could possibly be wrong about aliases that increase discoverability?
If people want aliases similar to the Genshin impact ones that goes like

rin_(fate) -> tohsaka_rin

then that would be okay with me.

These tags are not intuitive to new users at all. Some kind of alias is necessary and way overdue.

Because we have thousands of characters that use Japanese name order and admins have already stated we're not gonna start making English order utility aliases for all of them, cause we can't just do some and not others. Maybe if you could actually convince enough people that we should just start defaulting to English name order, but that's going to be a very grueling uphill battle.

And if he is called Gilgamesh (child) in game then that's fine, the person I would normally ask about this isn't awake right now.

Grand Order can't even agree with itself on how to call Child Gil considering it uses a different name in profile ("Gilgamesh (Child)") and in missions ("Kid Gil") so as long as it's discoverable it doesn't ultimately matter imo, in this particular case anyway. Because on top of that both the GO names are different from the original Hollow Ataraxia name so it's kind of a "whatever" scenario.

I have uploaded posts for almost all the above tags, and for the past 2 years I've been on here I've had to google half of them just to find the tag.
I've always found it weird that we still don't have aliases for such a big and popular franchise.

Everyone in the community just calls the characters by one name (their first name, mostly). You shouldn't have to do a google search to check how a character's last name is spelt or to check what it is in the first place.

This. I don't want to get into making utility aliases for every character ever. I already regret the doing ones I've done so far because I knew it would come to this.

I've been planning to change autocomplete such that you can find tags by typing any word in the tag, instead of just the first word in the tag. This is probably going to be another "reeee, you broke everything, now autocomplete returns different tags than before" moment, but people can cope.
