Should flower_knot imply chinese_knot?

Posted under Tags

Is flower_knot so unique that it really needs to be a separate tag? The overwhelming majority of chinese_knot posts fit the definition of flower_knot as well. What pressing reason do we have for not merging these tags together?

I asked the exact same thing in topic #18069, with no replies whatsoever.

Danbooru has plenty of gun nuts who care enough to maintain all the different gun tags and keep them sorted. Are there any knot enthusiasts here who have specific knowledge and strong opinions about knot tags? If there were, I should think they would have revealed themselves by now.

guess it's because flower knot is the only chinese knot simple enough for none-knot-enthusiasts to recognize, and you have all these genshin characters like ganyu who has a flower knot in their design that saturate chinese knot
I went with chinese_knot -genshin_impact and managed to find some more complicated knot designs like post #5127222, post #5037705, post #5110575, post #5111057.
I suggest keeping flower knot because it allows people who are looking for more complicated knots to do chinese_knot -flower_knot, but it also meas that both tags need quite some gardening and maybe even wiki updates since there're people mistagging a good luck knot for a flower knot like post #5249827, post #4606131, post #4680776 (this one is not even a good luck knot)
