Tag Implication: military_vehicle -> vehicle

Posted under General

I agree that generic tags seem odd, but in this case for example, they are useful if you are looking for say: cars or trucks or vans, in a more concise way. It's a similar case to food.

The real answer is to have tag hierarchies with inheritance, but that's not going to happen any time soon (probably ever), so extra tags and implications are what we have that work.

I wouldn't suggest we start a tag for WordNet's 'entity' , since that's so generic as to be completely useless. Something at the level of vehicle still seems to be valuable enough to me to keep.

Aircraft already seems defined as the catchall for aerial vehicles, and we could probably use watercraft for the tag used for water vehicles.

I can get behind this.
aircraft
vehicle
watercraft
space_craft

I'm undecided on whether to update the last to spacecraft. There are 3 or 4 aliases pointing to it and 400-some posts, so I worry it'll break and cause a mess with the current alias system issues.

Perhaps it would be easier to update watercraft to water_craft so if for whatever reason another _craft comes into play (hover_craft?) it will retain the underscore to normalize the naming convention.
