Aliased tags with negative tag counts only return one page of results

Posted under General

Just as the topic says. Multiple tag searches work fine, but a single tag search for, say, 1041_(pixiv) (the first predicate tag with a negative count in the list, currently) returns only one page of results, whereas the consequent of the alias, 1041_(toshikazu), returns the full 6 pages. Further investigation does confirm that the negative count for the tag is the deciding factor in whether it works or not; predicates with 0 results work fine.

I would make a Trac ticket for this, but it appears to be down, so I'm putting it here so I don't forget.

I don't think there was a negative tag count issue with the example I used in that thread. I'm no expert but I did look for anything out of the ordinary and I would probably notice something like that.

Then again, I might have missed it. It was over a year ago, can't really remember the details.

Definitely not limited to just tags with negative counts. More examples: gusutafu vs gustav_(telomere_na); amaneko vs ryouma_(galley)

The situation with gusutafu and gustav_(telomere_na) tags is somewhat different, problem was caused by the fact that not all posts were updated during aliasing. I've manually fixed almost all of them (including deleted one), except post #631671 which can't be edited with a basic account.

As for the amaneko tag, it also has a negative post count.

You don't actually have to manually change the tag, if the alias is in place and you edit the image (you don't even have to make any changes, just save them) it will apply the alias and change the tag.
