create implication spider_web -> web
spider_web means a net-like structure made of web, so...
If the implication is wrong, then web and spider_web should be cleaned up, because the former is sometimes used where the latter should be, and vice versa.

related topic #8790
How about aliasing web to spider silk to reduce the naming confusion, then implicating spider web to spider silk?
Looking back on topic #8790, I made a mistake in my idea. A better proposal would have a general tag to refer to any kind of webbing or material used for cocoons, webs, and the like. A tag to refer to spider webs or spider-like webs could then implicate that webbing tag, unordered masses of threads would still be achieved using a minus search.

I'd rather have a more general tag to cover various insect/monster made threads, because spiders are not the only ones that use threads/silk, so I'd rather not have it restricted to the spider association. Examples of non-spider webbing: post #90031 and post #1003605. That's of course assuming we can come up with something that would work, otherwise I guess we would just have to make a note in the wiki.

How about using just silk? That way it's not restricted to just spiders nor is there any requirement for a web structure. Wikipedia says silk can be any natural animal protein fiber, so that covers all the non-spider web spinning monsters.
Examples of posts with silk but no spider_web:
post #90031
post #1003605
post #279781
post #317285
post #253525
post #1233032
post #39986
(Examples taken from NWF Renim's posts)
Then we can do the following:
create alias web -> spider_web
create implication spider_web -> silk (since spider webs are made of silk by definition)

Sounds good to me, so long as no other issues pop up.
Bumping this because I've noticed a number of examples (see post #2194138 and post #2591338) of silk being used in reference to fabrics made from the material, which seems to be stretching this tag beyond its intended purpose. Is this an acceptable use of this tag, or should we create a new tag like silk_(textile) for this?
Alternatively, would it be better to move glossy fabrics like this to satin? We already do something like this for PVC and latex since it can be difficult to determine clothing material by sight alone, especially in hand-drawn images.
