[Feature Idea] Wiki/Artist Link Hits

As the more informational parts of this website, it would be helpful to know how often various Wiki Pages and Artist entries were visited, as well as the referring links.

For the first part, I was thinking of something like the Popular Searches.

The second part would detail how many hits came from external links, post/forum links, artist links, and wiki links. For those last two, break the details down even further into which wiki/artist pages the hits came from.

The above information would help focus efforts into improving the most oft visited pages, as well as optimizing the layout/position where possible of the links that lead to those pages.

Thoughts?

I like the idea. The top 5 or 10 read pages could also be listed as Featured Articles in a prominent position.

All this data and more should already be contained in the site's Google Analytics account. If @albert is so inclined, I think it would be possible to either grant people read-only access to certain views, or to bulk export the data (GA has an option to set up daily automatic CSV exports via email).

The alternative would be to log this data to Reportbooru and build custom reports for it, but I think that would take more effort and wouldn't be as flexible. Google Analytics is very powerful if you know how to use it.

Was able to do a quick mock-up with the data I got from Google analytics, which encompasses the last month (Jan 16-Feb 15). There were a couple extra statistics that were removed since it wasn't apparent how applicable they are (Entrances, Bounce Rate, Exit %). Also, since the artist pages had much less views, I only display the top 25.

I can start including the following data in the Prototype User Report (topic #13112).

I was a bit surprised by how often several of the help pages were visited. Those could definitely bear further introspection. We should open a new topic to discuss how to improve those, similar to how they have Talk pages and Project pages on Wikipedia. Thoughts?

Not bad. And I reall think that the howto and help wikis should be the most visited pages anyway.
Howto comment is no surprise, because it is everywhere when you want to write a comment.
The mod queue and the post relationships should get cleaned up. Also it's no miracle, because the survey stated that the moderation is utterly confusing.
Help:home is only the navigation site there and doesn't need further improvement...maybe. At least it is built good.

Since Danbooru has migrated away from using Google Analytics, would it be possible to get access to the analytics data where it is now?
