I just use a bookmark in firefox. See http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/5503/12032008093619td1.png .
I'm satisfied with just adding the tag search box to all Danbooru pages that don't already have it: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/27776

That's what I do, except I'm using 'm' since I set it up when we were in the miezaru phase.
Address bar keyword searches are wonderful and I use them literally dozens of times a day for a whole range of sites.
Oh look, old thread.
I use 't' for alphabetical tag index search all the time.
I think they're called keyword searches, not bookmarklets. I I have a real (bookmarks-toolbar) bookmarklet that applies the similarity search to whatever image is loaded. And a Random Post one that I click occasionally so undertagged pics get some love.

It was, it may have been a mod deleting a dumb or spam post.
When I want to add a search engine for firefox I just create one with http://ready.to/search/en/
Just set "front of search term" to whatever you need (in danbooru's case it would be http://danbooru.donmai.us/post?tags= ) and you can search directly from the search box. I have one for 3db and it works perfectly.
I can't get this one to work but I figure it's the same thing except needlessly complicated.

Is someone aware of any Danbooru search plugin?
Link in OP's link don't work anymore (not surprising being send 7 years ago...), there is one for Gelbooru featured on their frontpage, but I couldn't find any one for Danbooru.
In Chrome, I can search Danbooru from the URL bar.
