whats md5 error mean

i get this error when i'm trying to upload sometimes and i don't know what it means

Error
Validation failed: Md5 confirmation doesn't match Md5

Details
ActiveRecord::RecordInvalid exception raised
app/logical/upload_service.rb:42:in `start!'
app/controllers/uploads_controller.rb:55:in `create'

i thought so that's why i'm confused i download the picture and immediately copy the link without changing the tab so i don't get why its happening

What site are you trying to upload from?

Most sites are supported by the upload page, so there should almost never be a case when you have to download it manually. It's likely you are downloading a sample if you're doing it manually. Use the Bookmarklet instead.

Just drag the "post to danbooru" or "batch to danbooru" links in the bookmarklet page to your bookmark bar, and click them when you're viewing a deviantart post. It should automatically open an upload page for you.

how do i access the bookmarks bar when i'm looking at the image

This sometimes happens if Danbooru can't process the image/video. It happened to me recently with an mp4 I pulled off Facebook, forcing me to re-encode it to a webm. Best bet is to just re-save it through your image editor in PNG, it's a lossless format anyway.
