Animal Crossing: Humanization vs. Personification

Recent posts like post #4004032 and post #4004003 made me look up Humanization and Personification in relation to Animal Crossing characters and found that there are plenty of pictures tagged with either or.

I've refrained from tagging the two mentioned up top until I can tell which is more appropriate, but the definitions of both tags lead me to believe that humanization would be the more appropriate tag. Though they are meant to be animals, they're all bipedal and far more humanoid than they are animal.

"Humanization" is when already anthropomorphic characters are turned into humans. Animal Crossing characters definitely fit into that. Personification instead is for inanimate objects or animals being turned into humanoids. These two tags have always been mixed up by people, there's no getting around it unfortunately.

Personification is a misstag for Animal Crossing characters. The correct is humanization.

Don't agree with that blanket statement. I don't think you can argue for example that Fuuko_(doubutsu_no_mori) (ex: post #3999963) is anything other than an animal in appearance, thus justifying the usage of personification for her.

Yeah, and that's right, what I wanted to mean is: most non-human Animal Crossing characters are furries, so it would be humanization tag for them.
