Aliasing Hentai to rating:explicit

BUR #4276 has been rejected.

create alias hentai -> rating:explicit

As @Obstetrics showed us on the Discord server, the top Google search result for "danbooru hentai" is https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts?tags=hentai .

Just the plain wiki. Is this really what we want users to see? How many of them will bother to check what to do, instead of closing the page and trying somewhere else?

Pardon for using the words, but I don't think it's necessary to be so technically correct when it's beyond obvious what people really want when they search for hentai.

Would this even work, given that rating:e is not strictly speaking a tag?

I just realized this after the fact. I don't think this would work using the BUR system, but that won't change the fact that I think this should be a necessary change to the website.

Technically it should work, after doing a test on changing the rating via tags.
Don't see how it wouldn't change rating on any posts updated via DanbooruBot.

Edit: oh lol I misunderstood the topic

I tried doing an alias hentai -> rating:e on a test booru and it indeed does not work as you would expect. Searching "hentai" still returns no results. It also does not allow you to use the tag at all, trying to add it to a post yields Couldn't add tag: 'rating:explicit' cannot begin with 'rating:'..

I don't see how the site would benefit from this. If a user can't be bothered to click on rating:explicit in the wiki page it is likely they won't be in any way beneficial to this site. I think this is still mainly an art collection and not a porn site. Don't understand me wrong, I'm not against porn or users using the site mainly to look at porn, but what do we lose if some users google "danbooru hentai", see the wiki and close the site?

We lose traffic. Every user that joins Danbooru, because he gets what he finds here, is positiv as he either starts contributing or pays for gold. I guess you should be able to click rating:e on a wiki, but there is no reason to keep it that way, if it could be simpler.
