imply pumps -> high_heels

Posted under Tags

Pumps are really just shoes that have a very low cut top. Wikipedia seems a bit confused about their usage in the US suggesting in one place that the term is used only for stuff with heels (but including heels of only about 2-3cm in height) but in another place in the same article that it is used for something that doesn't have heels. Here in the UK the term would most often be used to refer to dancing shoes or shoes inspired by them like ballet pumps, which are about as far from high heels as you can get. About half the things that come up when I do a google image search for pump shoes have heels and about half don't.

Fair enough. Wouldn't that definition apply to most of ballet slippers pics too, though? In any case I'll reject this BUR and update the wiki to be more inclusive later if nobody disagrees.
