Dealing with the MMO race tags once and for all (character -> general)

For the past few years, we've slowly seen a trend towards turning the race tags associated with MMORPGs from general tags to character tags, with the last two or so years seeing BURs enforcing this notion even further (such as topic #18615). Often, when this is brought up, evazion (forum #186303) is quoted, specifically emphasizing the following section:

...it feels a little weird to have posts with an identifiable character but no chartag.

However, simultaneously, he also says this:

For me it comes down to what makes the tag list easiest to read.

And anyone who has looked at the character tag section of any post under MMORPGs with race tags will note how their presence as character tags doesn't make the tag list easier to read; in fact, when there are many characters of different races, it often does the opposite (especially once you face the eternal issue of race tags in general - canon tagging)! But that's what was chosen, because it is better than having no chartag at all, and because that's better, uniformity has to be applied on all MMORPG race tags.

This, among other reasons, would inspire me to finally create an alternative - Avatar tags! Whether it be for FFXIV or WoW, these ultimately serve to highlight what these characters often truly are; unnamed OCs using the races of those games, whether as actual player characters or just based on them in general. We can argue whether avatar should be what they are called, but that doesn't change the purpose they serve. With a tag finally made for them, there is effectively no reason why the race tags should remain character tags.

However, an argument can be raised from the side of those handling outfits - having the race tags as character tags heightens their visibility, ensuring they are tagged! However, in my opinion, I don't find that argument convincing for race tags, for one simple reason - whether or not they are character tags or general tags, these tags will be tagged no matter what. Tags such as tengu or moon rabbit are often canon tagged on various characters despite the wikis often not applying to them, just because it is canon, and thus those who search those tags expect those canon characters to be there. I sincerely doubt that not only their visibility, but their searchability would drop just because they aren't chartags anymore (and because of that latter aspect, nuking is a non-option).

Therefore, there is no reason now to keep these tags as character tags when an alternative now exists that fulfills the necessary criteria. To avoid crowding the BUR, I'll start with the FFXIV race tags.

BUR #7995 has been approved by @evazion.

category blood_elf -> general
category draenei -> general
category human_(warcraft) -> general
category night_elf -> general
category pandaren -> general
category tauren -> general
category worgen -> general
category void_elf -> general

With the previous BUR having passed, we're all set to move onto the next set of race tags, this time the playable races of WoW. I did consider including the non-playable race tags too, but they have so few posts as is that I didn't see the reason for it.

Maybe all these tags will be more understandable with _(race) qualifier ?
It's like the case with meme tags. You read tag list and see some weird tags and think wtf is this. But now they are all marked as meme.
