Argyle is supposed to be a pattern constituted with diamonds and diagonal lines (post #5093595), but it's commonly used on regular diamond patterns (post #5654387), diamond background is even an alias of argyle background. Ideally, they should be separated, but since no one is going to read the wikis anyway, very high chance that they'll end up like plaid and checkered clothes. An alternate solution could be keeping them together, and tag the traditional ones together with plaid, but that will pollute plaid.
