AI-generated art check thread

Hey, I saw that one of my pixiv uploads was getting quite a few views from Danbooru overnight so I decided to check out the post (post #7182273). I noticed that someone added the ai-generated tag to it as well as all my other posts, going so far as to replace the ai-assisted tags, and flagged them for deletion. I just wanted to know the difference between generated and assisted.

I’m very open that I use AI in my workflow, but I haven’t considered it "generated" since about June of last year. I spend several hours on each post, modeling, iterating, sketching, drawing, etc. so I’d like to think that I put in enough time and effort to warrant the distinction. I know it’s not exactly up to me to decide that here so I figured I’d post to get some opinions - especially since I can't defend against the claims that my posts are 100% generated on the posts that've already been flagged.

If needed, I can upload my psd files showing my work if that’ll help my case.

Flagged but not tagged.

The swirly sketchy lace detail on the top portion of her arm-gloves look characteristic of AI-gen. Could be an artist quirk but not too sure.

Has a lot of AI tells. The artist deleted post #7161526 from their Twitter, which is in a completely different style. Their current posts look very similar to mdf an's style. Viewing the art under a high pass filter also makes it obvious there's a lot of minor color variance, which really only happens due to the diffusion process of LDMs.

Is Dikko ‘s art AI-assisted or not? A lot of their posts are tagged as AI-assisted but not all of them and their recent posts aren’t tagged.

Looking into it I’ve seen it said that they trace over 3D models for their art. Had it ever been proven they use AI or were people just assuming that because of their AI-sequel style?

Sadly their Twitter account got sussed so if they made tweets talking about it they’re lost to time.

Those posts are obviously 3D, not ai-assisted. In post #6308255 or post #7127709 you can even still see the 3D background, for example.

@GuileGaze since someone decided to flag these posts, are post #7046817/post #6964818 generated or assisted? Do you by chance have the original prompted images so we can see the difference? I don't want to ask for the PSD because frankly it'd set a bad precedent where anyone can claim something is ai-generated without proof and then it's on the artist to prove otherwise.

I personally would call them assisted. Here's a link to a gallery that contains the gens + the canny poses they're based on. Sorry about the obnoxious ads on the site (but I'm assuming you're using an ad blocker), ever since imgur purged NSFW I haven't found a good alternative. I also had to grab the images directly from the psd file since I didn't have the originals saved.

I can send the original gens for the other posts which have been flagged/deleted if you'd like. Some of them have less/more changes to them compared to these two - the multicharacter ones in particular typically take a lot more work to do.

It was tagged as a work done by Ulrich (Tagaragakuin), but the overall quality of the work is significantly lower than this artist's usual works. Not to mention that the "source" is a filename, that I can't find any work that looks like this anywhere, and that the details on the character's fingers and crotch looks off.

They are third-party edits of a Fanbox reward.

I think it's img2img from their own sketches. For instance, this WIP is consistent with their 2020 work, but the completed pictures all have the telltale AI noise.

So I'm trying to post a new piece of art for every birthday of an iDOLM@STER character this year and I decided to go with this piece for Kanon Himeno. However, while it looks okay to me I just want to be thorough just in case I might have submitted something AI-created, or at least assisted.

It's not AI. Don't worry.
