That's the thing. Even our contributors are incapable to correctly tag duplicates vs revisions. Just check the removal history for pixel-perfect duplicate, every once in a while someone decides to go at war with the bot because they think they know better.

I can guarantee you that if we adopt this as a policy, half of our builders will start blindly mass adding duplicate to every single post they 1up.

i dont have strong feelings one way or the other about the duplicate tag, but i would guess that it would start becoming justifications for flags, regardless of what the rules say

the only artist where the difference between 1ups and variations got really bad for me was nuppehofu_(nibuta)

i dont like 1upping unless theres a big resolution difference, i dont think a superior version with the same resolution but 100 more kb is worth that much

That small of a difference usually ends up being a pixel-perfect duplicate anyway.
