World Masterpiece Theater is a series of anime adaptations. Usually we don’t make the distinction between the original work and its adaptations and group them under the original’s tag. What makes WMT different from other adaptations is that they’re adapted from classical literature, notably many western children’s literature. Meaning a lof of them have an original that is non-existent on Danbooru. And because they were done without discussion, there’re several weird phenomenons.
- An originally western copyright having a romaji copytag and its characters having romaji qualifiers.
- posts referring to the original version has no tag thus got tagged with anime version
- duplicate character tags
- Original and anime sharing a single copytag
- But its prequel uses anime as tag (tho it’s understandable, from what it seems, mildred primson is an anime original character, please confirm)
- Posts not actually referring to anime got tagged as such because artist tagged WMT
I wouldn’t mind either way, but things need to have consistency. So
- Do we split the two versions completely?
- If we do, should they have implications?
- Should they share the same chartags like king arthur (mythology) or be treated like artoria pendragon?
Of course I’m not familiar with every copyright involved, anyone knowledgeable please leave your thoughts.
