So I understand the general policy in regards to hard-translations (a lot of which feels like basic common sense at this point, at least to me). However, if I were to upload one of those official art 4koma comic strips, and the comic has an official English version, should I just go ahead and upload it? And if so, should I add the official translation to the pool I'm gonna end up creating for it, or is just making the original Japanese version its parent enough?
Alrighty. I just saw that it's generally discouraged (and for good reason), so I wanted to check before uploading such. Thank you.
Generally, the English version is the one most people would be interested in, an official translation from Japanese to Chinese for example wouldn't really help many users on Danbooru.

Hard-Translations are discouraged, yes, but that's specifically referring to third-party translations. First-party translations are perfectly fine, though I wish people wouldn't be so quick to upload poor quality alternate language posts just because they're "official"

Yeah. I wasn't interested in uploading any alternate language versions beyond English for the reason you pointed out (in fact, I wasn't sure if it was allowed at all...not that I would've without that concern in mind, considering Danbooru is pretty adamant on using English when possible). I just wanted to double check because I wasn't entirely sure on the restrictions with English, considering English hard-translations are considering borderline.
Edit: Turns out the English version has the comic in individual pieces instead of all together like the Japanese version for some reason? So unless there's a way to get it all together without resorting to third-party editing, I'll just have to upload the Japanese version and use the note system to translate it. Ugh, how annoying...

Stitched hasn't implied third-party edit since 2021 (topic #19092) specifically for cases like this, where an image is stitched back together to restore the original integrity.

Ah, makes sense. The main issue is that I have no idea how to stitch images together, so whatever I do certainly won't be up to Danbooru's standards.
