WcDonald's is Real: Tag Discussion

Posted under General

I imagine everyone here is familiar with WcDonald's, the common brand name imitation for McDonald's typically found in various properties for years now.

Well, as of a few hours ago, McDonald's has announced that they are turning WcDonald's real in collaboration with Acky Bright and studio pierrot. No, I am not kidding here.

So, the question right now is how might we handle this tag-wise? We may have to distinguish between WcDonald's the parody and WcDonald's the corporate adaptation, especially in regards to the official material being released and fanart inspired by the campaign in specific and not the parody which inspired it, but that entirely depends on how things with this go.

Maybe something as simple as adding a qualifier (like _(parody)) to the current tag? That's just for the tag name though, as for a way to consistently decide which of the two to tag, my best guess would be the "real" one requiring some obvious and/or direct reference (in the image, commentary, etc.)

Given the fact that I would imagine the ad campaign would receive far more limited fanart (assuming none of the characters associated with it, post #7274687, go viral and inspire a ton of porn or something), it would make more sense to separate out the campaign with its own qualifier rather than giving the current tag a qualifier. Something like _(ad_campaign) or whatever.
