If we are afraid of this being miss used then warning the user when they try to add the tag that it is a sensitive tag, that one should be careful before use and to read the wiki page would discourage a lot of users from just haphazardly adding the tag to any thing that might remotely fit the tag name.
I do not think this would be a practical tag at all. Not even considering the fact that the tag would apply to a significant part of the website, given how many non-human humanoid tags suffer from canon-tagging or otherwise feature attempts at canon-tagging on the regular, this would be an absolute disaster of a tag (and this isn't something that can be solved by writing restrictions in a wiki, because most folks do not read the wikis of what they're tagging, and most folks wouldn't tag anything if they were a wiki-reading barrier). We've literally had attempts to kill the human tags that exist for fantasy settings in topic #21464, which survived because those tags were used to represent characters who are in the minority; meanwhile your tag is going to apply to hundreds of copyrights where nonhuman humanoids represent the majority, lumping together so many things that most folks theoretically interested in your tag would just search for individually.
What evazion said recently, about how "the end result [of our entire philosophy of tagging] is every tag gets twisted and diluted into the broadest, most meaningless thing possible," feels relevant here, because while this isn't an old tag being broadened into unusability, this is a new tag that would immediately fit the bill, a tag that just exists because someone decided it has to even if no one would ever willingly use it themselves. And I say this knowing that, if it is accepted, someone, whether you, willes, or someone else, is going to inevitably imply tons of tags to it. It's going to be a tag that is only added through implication.

consider here that, according to willes, this tag supposedly is intended to only cover characters that do not fall under "more specific" species tags such as cat girl, mermaid or elf. i doubt willes will be willing to willingly imply many tags to it, however, it is nevertheless extremely easy to be diluted
i am not supportive of this tag whatsoever. it will require tons of upkeep for little to no benefit

Well, if you're attempting to cover a character that doesn't fall under one of those tags, why not just make a specific tag for them (which you can then list in one of the two tag groups willes made and listed above)? There's no reason to go completely broad, and there's nothing in the tag's name itself that suggests something like cat girl, mermaid or elf wouldn't count. Hell, the character tagged in the one post above right now, Aisha Clanclan, has been tagged with cat girl. It's the no humans problem where it keeps getting tagged on humanoid characters despite the wiki saying humanoids don't count.
It just takes a handful of users to easily dilute the tag to the point where willes is unable to cope with tag-gardening and to easily make it so that those three tags do imply it, and I don't even mean folks who have access to the tag script mode (as I made imageboard desourced over the course of several hours the old-fashioned way).
I like this type of character and I wouldn't use this tag. It's too broad and covers a huge chunk of posts on the site, and I can already see it becoming the same hot mess that no humans already is.
Especially when we start getting into canon tagging... Are people going to start tagging 2B as non-human_humanoid because she's technically an android?

what we could have is something like animal request but species/race request
I agree with Trouble Windows, I like this sort of character and I can't see myself using the tag even if we name it something else. If the character doesn't fit under any other tag, most of us would be searching for them by name anyway. This means it would have to be original characters who don't have their own tag while also not fitting beneath any tag we have already.
If you think otherwise, could you provide a few posts you think might need this tag?
