rename crye_cut_pants -> combat_pants

BUR #43653 is pending approval.

rename crye_cut_pants -> combat_pants
create alias tactical_pants -> combat_pants

So, I was looking through the pants wiki to tag pants like the ones in post #8191270 (on the left); kinda baggy, knee-pads sewn in, vaguely blocky and militaristic in cut. And lo and behold: the second example on the pants wiki is labeled crye_cut_pants.

So, to make sure I'm tagging it right, I go to the wiki for crye_cut_pants. No wiki. So I go to the tag. Only one post, and it was the image that was used as the example image on the pants wiki. So I Google 'crye cut pants'. From what I could find, the brand 'Crye Precision' makes tactical gear. And sometimes pants. Which sometimes have knee-pads in them. 'Crye' is not an actual cut of pants.

So I looked around, and the vaguely militaristic pants with knee-pads in them are usually referred to as combat pants, and sometimes tactical pants. So, can we change crye_cut_pants to combat_pants, and preemptively alias tactical_pants to combat_pants, too?

The definition of combat pants I would put on a wiki would be the following:

"Combat pants are a type of military-style trousers commonly worn by soldiers in modern combat, typically involving firearms.

Combat pants are characterized by thick, durable fabric, and a boxy, looser fit for ease of movement. Additionally, pants of this type may include multiple cargo pants-style pockets for carrying gear or ammunition, and knee pads (either sewn-in or removable) to provide protection and comfort when kneeling during shooting or tactical maneuvers.

These pants can be worn either by themselves or as part of a set of military fatigues, and commonly come in drab or muted colors such as black, grey, brown, tan, olive, and camoflage.

What do you guys think? Sorry, I know this literally only affects one post made 8 years ago... I've never done one of these before, so let me know if I fucked it up ᕕ(;・ω・)ᕗ

Agree that the crye cut tag should change. Also agree on tactical pants being searchable (I would probably think of that before combat pants).

There's a decent overlap between cargo pants and combat ones... Enough for an implication even? Maybe I'm crazy.

The tactical clothes tag is also relevant. The search tactical_clothes cargo_pants finds some pants of the type we're talking about, though obviously most of the posts on the site with such pants don't have both those tags. military_combat_uniform cargo_pants has a few more.

I don't really know what point I'm trying to make. I guess I'm a little afraid of having too many tags for similar things so that you can't reliably search. I do think the BUR is an improvement even as is, though combat pants would obviously need to be populated if it goes through. I'd also put cargo pants and tactical clothes in the "See also" of your wiki.

Well, the BUR only affects the one old post for now, but we have a lot of other combat pants on the site that should get the tag if we make it. The question I suppose is whether there's an existing tag or combination we can use instead.
