Some tags show up as artist tags when they're not?

So far I've noticed that :< and !? show up as artist tags for me when they're in the sidebar of the image, but they're still general tags when checking under "Tags" and they show up as general in the sidebar when doing tag searches too. I can't really find anything in common here (looking at a few other tags with colon, exclamation mark, etc., they seem fine), so I'm not sure if there are any others.

Oh, so I'm NOT going crazy. Or maybe we're both going crazy. Either way it's happening for me as well.

Well, that's odd. Editing a post with "general:!?" doesn't seem to fix it, either.

I edited it to a character tag, and then back to a general tag. That seems to have fixed it, at least on my end.

...Actually, :< is fixed on my end now as well. Maybe someone else did something.

I noticed :< earlier today and went to fix it, but it seemed to have been changed back to "general" before I got to it. Perhaps someone is playing with us flipping it back to artist? Is this something we log changes for?

Actually that is what it was like for me too. It was registered as "general", but when viewed in the image sidebar, it still ended up showing red as if it was an artist (and clicking on the "?", it acted like you were starting an artist entry). I think it was some sort of glitch rather than someone playing with us.

This and some other things seem to have broken as of a few days ago.

Tag counts are all screwy. I can't find any two locations that give the same count for any tag. Occasionally tags will show up with a count of 0/1 even if they have 50+ posts under them (nagato yuki (shoushitsu) was doing this for me earlier, for instance.)

Yeah, I've seen 0 counts as well. A side effect of caching, albert thinks.

And now, both tags I originally mentioned are doing the same thing again. We can probably do the same thing as last time to fix it, but I still wonder what's causing it.

Happening to me too. On post #621839, :> shows up as an artist tag, but when I go to browse :> posts, it's a general tag again.

So that's why po was an artist with no posts, even deleted ones.

Basically, certain 2 character tags appear as an artist when looking at a picture tagged with it.

Specifically:
The 2 character combination contains no numbers or letters

eg
:\
:{
:}
^^
etc.

Yeah, due to a bug the tags Godel mentioned all share the same cache entry. If the type of one of those tags is changed the change will appear to affect all the other tags.

EDIT: I think it's because there is an artist tag named [].
