Does Danbooru block IP?

Does Danbooru block IP?

I am having to browse Danbooru through a proxy, and I don't know if I have been banned via IP or not, and if so, what I have been banned for.

Tried opening Danbooru main page through 3 different browsers and on different days..

Some insight would be greatly appreciated.

Well, your profile indicates you're not blocked and your record history (while it has one neg), does not indicate past blocks either. I'd send a mail to user 'albert' and see if the IP you're using was banned for some reason.

Thank you that would be much appreciated, Only thing I can think I have done was leaving a comment on an image and getting 1 negative mark, I had a chat to the person who gave me the mark and understood his reason why and apologized, but other that that I uploaded an image this week and Did some tag edits for the snake character from One_Piece, thats it :/

I am really baffled by this..

Yesterday morning was last time it worked normal, all yesterday afternoon I could not access through my 3 browsers, browsers being IE, Firefox and Google Chrome.

Google chrome is what I normally use for Danbooru.

Maybe it's a DNS issue?

I thought this too, I tried using Open DNS and still not working :<

My IP is * [removed] * That is my normal IP.

With this proxy server It looks like I am browsing from Huston, Texas in USA.... XD

Hmm, I can't redact you, but you might have thought twice before broadcasting your IP. It might be smarter to simply PM it to jxh2154 or Albert. I'm pretty sure only Albert can check it for you.

The fact that you say you're from Australia is in itself interesting though, because that is one of the countries that has recently been talking about setting up a national firewall. I wouldn't be surprised if Danbooru got added to a blacklist either at the national or at least ISP level.

You might try connecting directly to http://sonohara.donmai.us or http://hijiribe.donmai.us and see if that resolves anything. If it does, you know it's not on Danbooru's side.

It'd be an albert thing. I asked albert to look into it in a dmail. I removed the IP from Jashin's post though.

That firewall isn't really in effect yet, they are still disputing the legality of it I think..

It will be interesting to see what happens once it is up and running though, It's main aim is to stop the spread of Child pornography and various other undesirables.. I hardly think Danbooru, despite a large portion of Explicit material would be added to the list.

Both addresses do not work without proxy.

They both work through Proxy though..

The only reason I thought it might be is because loli is a hot button topic in some jurisdictions and might be sufficient in some people's minds for a blacklist.

Yeh, it's a static IP and a network shared in a building, and there are about 5 guys that use this internet connection.

It's mainly used for gaming and downloading, I'm an artist so I come here to Danbooru for inspiration, DeviantArt works fine, and every other website I visit works fine, just Danbooru doesn't work as of yesterday, but works fine through proxy :<

It's really got me stumped..

I don't think I can renew my IP, it is static :/

Jashin, I'm in Australia also, so I'm just curious to what your internet provider might be. Some of the internet providers now in Australia are working with the Federal Police and blocking any sites that have lolicon, shotacon or toddlercon upon their system.

And you are accessing this website normally without using a proxy?

I think our internet provider is either TPG Internet or Internode, I can't quite remember..

I didn't really know that stuff was on here, I have never seen any..

I'm accessing it normally, though I do have loli, shota and young blacklisted. Has your IP been blocked on any other sites that you frequent?

Everything else works fine, EVERYTHING but Danbooru.

And I visit heaps of sites every day..

Lot's of Japanese sites, Computer Hardware sites, Artist's webpages, DeviantArt Alot... I could actually put a couple hundred places I go on the internet every day, and they all work fine.

I am really lost, truly this has me stumped.

I have a few things blacklisted, hehehe ;> Mainly thanks to our past run in..

Never seen loli or shota here before so it never crossed my mind to black list it :/

Loli and Shota are for privledged accounts and above. But I still have it blacklisted because I dislike it. I'm stumped to help you however I do hope things work out and you are able to browse Danbooru normally.

Hopefully this Albert dude that jxh2154 mentioned will be able to help out.

Guess I'll give it a day or two and see what happens, at least some mods have seen my question and seem to be generally interested in my plea for help.

Have you tried pinging or tracerouting to danbooru?
