I have "Show Image Samples" enabled, and most larger images get automatically scaled down, but for a lot of them, an image around 650x975 will be shown at "100% of it's original size", but an image around 1200x1500 won't be resized at all. Is this some random glitch that only happens to me?

I'm virtually certain that the "100% of original size" means that, while the image isn't actually resized, it has been been recompressed into a lower-quality JPG with a smaller filesize. I see this fairly often with PNGs and even high-quality JPGs.
Just an educated guess, but perhaps the image sampling isn't triggered by the dimensions of the image, but rather the filesize?
The percentage only reflects height/width scaling of the sample. Whether or not an image sample is created depends on filesize, dimensions, and file type. Whether or not images are resized is a separate user setting from "Show Image Samples".
Well, I noticed that post #700125 gets resized, but it's child doesn't, and they have the exact width/height. Do only images of a certain filesize get resized, regardless of the width/height?
