Self-favoriting posts?

Hi there! Today I noticed a new picture (namely post #82725) among my recent favorites, but I'm sure that I never fav'd this post before. BTW, I didn't log out for several days, so... how could this happen?

Someone else used you computer and favorited it? That's the only realistic possibility.

Whilst asleep, you turned on your computer and browsed danbooru. Coming across post #82725, your sleepy self had favorited the image. You wake up with no recollection of the events.

That or what Log said.

Dammit, now I will watch carefully so that no one touched my computer. Now I'm in paranoia mode. As for sleepwalking... it has never happened to me before, but who knows? XD

I don't know about you, but on several occasions I've favorited a post and then forgot about it.

Then later I'll find the post again and go to favorite it, only to realize that it's already in my favorites.

This happened me a couple of times. I wake up, go to my profile and see a post I'm sure I didn't favorite. I just chalk it up to what hidetheunforgiven said.

The problem is that I'm sure that last post I've favorited was post #805047. And this morning post #82725 was at the left of my recent favorites list.

I feel like something like that happened to me a few days ago. Left work and came back to find post #824312 favorited. It's still relevant to my interests and left it, but I was somewhat paranoid, changed password and whatnot. There might have been another post or two, but I removed those.

Since it's worth mentioning: If a post you favorited is a child post, and that post gets deleted later-on, that favorite will be moved over to the parent post instead.

This effectively results in a "new" post in your favorites list.

Okay, but as far as I can remember I've never favorited any zegapain posts before.

I had a similar experience. I'd found post #797098 favorited, and I know I'd never seen it before, because A) Its AWESOME and B) If I had, I would have done what I did when I found it, make it my desktop background.

I think that's the result of the what I mentioned in my previous reply in this thread.

post #734786 was the child post you (and I) originally favorited. When it got deleted for being a Pixiv sample, all the favorites got moved over to the then-newly uploaded parent post - which is why it magically appeared on your favorites list.

And as far as you not remembering seeing it, stuff like that happens all the time. I run into posts that make me think "This is awesome-sauce. I should favorite thi -- wait, I already did. Damn." fairly often.

I've also came across stuff I don't remember in my favorites, but like others in here I assumed it was just me forgetting I added it in the past.

I had it happen once with post #822127 a few days ago. I explicitly remember faving post #746031 before I shut my computer off. I get on the next day, and post #822127 is at the head of the line. I'd seen the post before, but I know that I hadn't faved it.

There's been a lot of pixiv manga sample replacement lately. I bet you favorited post #771402 two months ago and forgot about it, and when it was parented to post #822127 and deleted all the favorites were transferred to it.

I never knew favorites could work like that. That's actually a pretty neat feature if you ask me.

I just realized... post #82725 was uploaded over 4 years ago.

Well, there's one more possibility: someone has mistakenly parenting a pixiv_manga_sample to post #82725 then delete that child post, thus all the favorites are transfered to the wrong parent.

I knew I had copy the wrong ID of parent post twice in the past when opening too many tabs in my browser.

There are no children to that post, deleted or not. It's insane to think someone would parent it to the wrong post, delete it, and the fix the parent id.

Why not? As I said, I did it already, and I'm still quite sane I hope.
