With how much this type of thing comes up, I'm thinking it might be good to create a general "gerund alias thread" that's linked to in the useful threads index.
We have two classes, run → running (verb → gerund), but smiling → smile (gerund → noun). Actions tend to go in the former, more visual things in the latter. +1 for the alias here.
Just a quick note of caution: be careful not to submit aliases as implications and vice versa. I get a "create" link I can click when you submit through the form, and this took me to an implication instead of an alias. I generally notice and correct such things before submitting but a double-check before you submit is always good.
