Tag implications/aliases: clothes lift tags

Posted under General

How about one or two umbrella tags to cover some of the lift tags, like shirt lift and dress lift (ignoring ones like strap lift and leg lift? Implications or aliases.

I see that we have a top lift tag with 54 posts. We could have either that and bottom lift, or a single clothes lift tag. Sweater lift/shirt lift are similar, as are dress lift/skirt lift/kimono lift, so umbrella tags capture what most people are actually looking for.

If going the top/bottom route, aliases are also an option--you'd then use bottom_lift skirt instead of skirt_lift, though of course the fit isn't perfect.

I'm not sure if bikini lift/bra lift (another very similar pair) ought to be included in this.

There's also the matter that dress hold is aliased to skirt hold, so perhaps dress lift could be aliased to skirt lift (and maybe similarly for some of the other lift variations) to cut down on the closely-related variations.

I was against any attempts to alias dress_lift to skirt_lift in the past, and I'm still against it today. You can't lift a skirt up to the point where you're actually revealing the character's chest like you can with a dress, which also throws a wrench in trying to use bottom_lift and top_lift, as a dress is both top and bottom pieces in one and you can perform a dress_lift to the extent that it becomes a "top_lift" (examples post #1101513, post #1057822, and post #930844). Dress_lift needs to stay it's own tag, and should not be joined with tags that do not share the aspect of involving a single one-piece garment that can be lifted up all the way.

As for the idea in general, I would agree that we could at least go the route of trying to combine similar types of items into more unified tags, but I would be opposed to simply aliasing them all into one or two catchall tags and try very poorly to make it work in conjunction with a article of clothing tag.

And I'm satisfied by dress lift -> bottom lift, even considering that dress lift concern.

At minimum, there needs to at least be a tag that can cover those kinds of depictions, and bottom_lift is not it. If for some reason the alias does get approved, I would request that it be delayed until those kinds of dress lift depictions can be found and given their own tag. It's already difficult finding them under dress_lift, putting them under a broader tag will just make it that much more difficult isolating those kinds of images.
