The phrase あんたバカー (Are you stupid?) from NGE is of a memetic level in Japan, at least. Something along the lines of post #469138, post #800475, post #1077572 etc.; and judging by post #769466 it's not limited only to images of Evangelion's Asuka.
(Pixiv tags for あんたバカぁ? and あんたバカァ? both exist. Just variations of writing the same phrase.)
Should this be tagged like the other memes? If so, what do we call it?

@Log: there are many tags on danbooru with single-digit populations because they are rare. Plus there are images with the expression that aren't appropriately tagged on pixiv either. I think it'd be valuable since it's difficult to replicate the search using existing tags.

Anyway, the tag's value is minimal at best. After going through the Pixiv tag, there's not much consistency or a pattern in usage other than the catchphase itself, and even that seems to be optional.
Pixiv tags are notoriously unregulated and inconsistent. Plus, each picture there can only have 10 tags at maximum so even the strictly-defined tags are not applied to all pictures they would fit. IMO, Pixiv's tag usage shouldn't affect whether we tag something at all.
"Anta baka?" is a completely valid tag, like other phrase tags we have, such as a flat chest is a status symbol, pika pika pikarin jankenpon, mukyuu, and make a contract.

Yeah I wasn't really agreeing. I was just merely suggesting possible tags.
I'd recommend an English language tag for the phrase (something like are_you_stupid instead of anta_baka).
This fits in line with other phrase tags like the flat_chest and contract examples, and contrasts with the mukyuu or homu examples which are often onomatopoeia. The standardized translation is useful because the catchphrase can be spotted more easily and is understood as a pardoy/quote.

Sure there are but meme tags need a fair amount of posts otherwise it's just a few artists jerking off over something they find amusing.

Sure, this is correct, but pixiv tags are a good way to get a sampling of how popular something really is. If someone wants to link 30+ images here (or at least do a count and can truthfully tell me there's 47 or whatever images) it's probably caught on as a meme and not a few artists jerking off over some phrase they fell in love with.
This is more or less how we've handled tags with questionable popularity in the past and I don't see how this tag is any different.

Makes sense, but whatever we go with needs to specify in the wiki that it would be specifically for the "あんたバカ" phasing popularized by Evangelion and not other ways to say "Are you stupid?" in Japanese.
Catchphrases should be left in their original Japanese if at all possible. "Anta baka" is always "anta baka" since あんたばか is what we're tagging. Meanwhile it could be any number of things if you try to translate it ("are you stupid", "are you an idiot", "are you dumb", "what are you, retarded", etc). For something this short, easy to remember, and iconic (thanks to Evangelion) it's a much better choice than arbitrarily selecting one of many English translations. For very long/complex Japanese phrases, we would need to weigh memorability and convenience a little differently, but it's an easy choice here I think.
In any case, we have other catchphrase tags so I don't mind this one existing. I'll alias "are you stupid?" and "are you stupid" to it since that seems like one of the more common translations.
Wouldn't it be better to use "anta_baka?" rather than "anta_baka"?
