Shinai covering

Doesn't seem like we have a tag for this, so does any ideas on what the proper tag name should be?

Oddly enough I believe it's just referred to as a cloth sword bag.

I have seen in at least one manga a similar type covering as the first group (just longer) being used for naginata as well, so perhaps these sleeves are used for a variety of other weapons/practice weapons?

Probably. I just had it mind from seeing kendo in anime, so that's where I went searching for examples.

They are simply called 竹刀袋 (shinai-bukuro, using rendaku), 木刀袋 (bokutou-bukuro, "bokutou" is a synonym for "bokken") and 薙刀袋/なぎなた袋 (naginata-bukuro).

So maybe just something generic like weapon_bag? Might be a bit too generic though.

cloth_sheath? Or would that not work since the bag covers the handle, but sheathes typically wouldn't? As for the original term 袋 / bukuro does literally just mean pouch or bag.

I should have tried searching around more: sword_bag does already exist and is used for what I'm trying to tag. This seems like a fair enough tag name and is close to what I was leaning towards anyway. I'll go ahead and populate the tag with the images I found (including the second group).

I see shinai_bag was used before too. I think it would be good to have an alias in place to sword_bag for those who associate with shinai at first (as I had in my mind).

With post #1555130, I see bows (assumedly, given the characters) being covered in the exact same manner. I suppose it's alright to use the same tag? We could go for the weapon_bag proposal now (apparently there is already a weapon_cover_bag applied to post #1180763), but not sure if that's necessary for what will be rare exceptions that visually look near identical to a "sword bag" regardless of what we know them to be carrying.

they all look the same to me. the only thing different is the object inside which we can only guess. i favor for an alias, maybe towards to a more general weapon_cover_bag or weapon_bag, both seem fine.

Any agreement on an alias? Sometimes it's easier to tell that there's something other than a sword being covered (post #1752334), and other times it's indistinguishable from a sword_bag (post #1617532). Separate tags (with an implication) would be useful for the former, but it's not that important IMO.
