Trying to upload a post from pixiv but when I do, I get

Error: Source couldn't be opened: getaddrinfo: Name or service not known

What's wrong?

Maybe his ISP's DNS servers are flunking-out.

Anyway, OP, I have a few suggestions:

• The problem might be local to your machine, so try using another computer and see if it works.

• If it doesn't, maybe your house's networking equipment is having issues.

• Call-up your ISP and ask if their DNS servers are currently experiencing any problems.

• Wait it out, maybe it'll fix itself.

That last one is my favorite.

There's also the posibility that the problem is on Pixiv's end, since it seems it's happened before: forum #47888.

Again, you'd probably just want to wait it out.

Just chipping in I was also having the same problem earlier, so he wasn't the only one. My guess is the same as Bapabooiee: pixiv being dumb again.

I'm still having the same problem already called my ISP and they have said there is no DNS server issues. Soo.. Is anyone else still having problems uploading from pixiv?

I am. This happened a couple of hours ago. I thought it was just me.

It happened like 3 hours for me. I waited till just now to upload same picture and still getting same error. So I'm assuming it's pixiv's end.

Something doesn't add up. If it was from Pixiv's end, shouldn't everyone have trouble and not just a selected few?

I've also been having the same problem for the last few hours. I'm just going to wait until morning to try again.

I've ran into this problem as well. Right now the only way I could upload anything from Pixiv was to save the image to my computer.

It's extremely un-encouraged to do so. That's how I used to upload things (since I didn't realize things could be directly pulled from Pixiv) until I got an irritated mail to knock it off.

I think editing the source to point to the correct Pixiv image immediately after uploading should satisfy any problems anyone has with that practice. Of course, that's not the simplest thing in the world to do, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't know exactly what I mean by 'editing the source to point to the correct Pixiv image'.

If both the source and local upload fields are filled, the local upload is prioritized over retrieving the image from the source, so editing isn't necessary if you can just get both things done at once.

I'm still getting this error, but Only on Danbooru.
I was able to upload from pixiv to Konachan without any problems. But when I went to upload to Danbooru it threw back an error.

Hmm, then maybe Pixiv recently introduced a change that broke Danbooru's Pixiv-related code. Danbooru's had to keep up-to-date with their changes before.

I'll contact Albert on that.

Apparently, I can upload again. I'm not sure if someone fixed it or the problem went away on it's own.
