And here I thought another user with 40k favorites was overdoing it.

What exactly does someone DO with 50k favorites?

I convince myself I use it as a bookmarking system (as opposed to my already numerous browser bookmarks), but I've hardly ever used them to find particular posts, intentioned as references, either for comments elsewhere or determining what tags (particularly non-general) to use on other posts.

I should probably go through them, figure out what I actually want to keep around for that alleged purpose, but...that's intimidating. (Seems I'm that way for anything digital. Can one hoard the immaterial?)

If you really like a picture, why not just save it to your PC? Sounds like a crazy idea I know lol. I usually reserve favorites for a "I love it" rather than a simple "I like it" kinda thing. But that's just me lol.

Can't say if that's the reason but it's way faster to retrieve an image from your own trimmed version of danbooru than from your hard drive.

Another reason for mass-favoriting might be the score boost. Anytime IchiMashiPotatos favorites a post he also upvotes it. Sounds far-fetched but who knows.

That seems to not happen anymore, or at least as such a couple days ago. Until the upgrade though, yes, one could bump the score twice by favoriting and upvoting. Heck, after a sufficient amount of time, a post could be upvoted again.

I am slightly ashamed that I have made use of both of these in a few circumstances.
