Placing notes on angled text

I recently translated post #1395402, which has substantial quantities of text at an angle that's not easily covered by the note boxes. I wanted to get opinions on the best positioning for the note boxes; right now they're off to the side, in order to be minimally intrusive, but I wondered if trying to cover as much of the text as possible (image) would make it more intuitive even if the boxes don't align well with the text.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, I find this look better than having the small boxes off to the side. It's also more uniform with the notes on the right side.

For those that can't read moonrunes, they might not even notice the text below the boxes is sideways.
