How do I tell if an image upload is new or already attempted?

Posted under General

Sometimes I feel there's an image I want to upload, but the source is quite dated, and I'm not sure if it's brand-new or if it's uploaded in the past, and possibly deleted. And I kind of want to avoid re-uploading the same thing if it's already tried and deleted, instead of just looking at what happened with the previously attempted upload. If it's avoidable, that is.

For Pixiv, if your browser supports userscripts, the "Endless Pixiv Pages" and "Full size and Image Search" scripts from forum #8502 add links to that image search and run source searches to make things a little more convenient (some editing of the source code may be required).

How about this picture? http://blog-imgs-30.fc2.com/a/v/e/averagecupicupi/sangetusei.jpg

I don't know if this is actually done by the blog owner. I tried searching in TinEye, Google and Danbooru Similar button and no results, so I doubt it's copied from somewhere else. But I did some research on averagecupicupi (artist "average" on this site, pixiv is http://www.pixiv.net/stacc/lien1) and I don't see this picture there, and also the art style doesn't match up.
