Board game implications

Implicate the following:

chess -> board_game
go -> board_game
mahjong -> board_game

They're different types of board games (as far as I know of tagged games on Danbooru), so I think they can be covered under the broader board_game tag as well.

I wouldn't call tic tac toe a board game.

Why would you not consider it a board game?

True, it's not a game with provided boards and pieces, instead having to improvise the playing area, but its premise is the same as a board game.

Then what would twister be classified as if it isn't a board game? All I can think of is that it's a party game.

Mahjong is not a board game (any more than tic tac toe is) and it is not played with a board. It also accounts for more than half the tags under board game at the moment...

I suppose Mahjong is kinda like Dominoes (not the pizza): a tile-based game. Also the Wikipedia page mentions that the board for a board game is a "pre-marked surface", and the tables Mahjong is played on are blank... unless they're electronic like post #2663236 but really the tables just setup, like placing the pieces on a chess board.

If anything, it's like a card game.
