Can't send messages?

So I'm trying to send a message to another user to ask where he gets his pictures via the messages button in the account section.

However when I hit the send button the name of the person I intend to send it to is changed to someone else, an MD Anonymous.

I don't know if this is some sort of bug or if I'm missing something. Some clarification would be appreciated.

Your account is ancient so odds are it's a bug. You could just copy/paste the username anyways.

Exactly how are you trying to send the message?

The normal way would be to go to the receiving user's profile (here's my profile as an example), and click "Send message" in the subnavbar. It should automatically fill in the user's name.

How is account age related to sending dmails at all? Your account is even older than his, but you can still send dmails, can't you?

Don't new accounts still have two weeks of no PMs? It was that way for quite a long time.

Also, this has been reported at least once previously I believe.

No, not currently. Brand new accounts can send dmails.

But even if they did I don't understand what you're getting at. OP's account is much older than two weeks old.

Yes. That was the point. "Your account is ancient" as in "your account is not less than two weeks old" "so odds are it's a bug" as in "the issue is not that dmails cannot be sent by your account less than two weeks old" which isn't even a thing anymore anyways.

My way was to go to My Account--> Messages--> New

But I've done it the normal way as you say it is, and it seems work so thanks.
