How the bloody hell is this from anime? This looks like a female kyuubi in human form, forming a ball of foxfire. Not pulling from anime, but they are pulling from folklore. As does Naruto, Nurarihyon no Mago, Yu Yu Hakusho, Jigoku Sensei Nube, etc.
The fact she has no ears visible makes me disappointed.

I don't think they change the models just the textures. And since she doesn't have any kind of headgear or ears, it'd be hard to texture in her hat, as well as everything else in her regular outfit. It just seems like it'd be too different.

Lots of kids think Kyuubi was invented by Naruto's mangaka. Also, apparently Wukong was invented by Akira Toriyama

They've done official skins that are blatant references to copyrighted characters, actually. Sivir's Xena and Wonder Woman skins, for example. They just don't use the characters' names on the skins, that's all.
