Not sure what to think about this interpretation of Sanae, I like some aspects, while some others leave me a bit perplexed. But I totally approve badass Sanae.

If Sanae knew about how many humans this dark Hijiri let get killed by the youkai, she probably wouldn't have cared so much.
Then again, this is probably the first time she killed another human.

they showed the aftermath of her dying with unzan, they kind of skip the fight with musara too, just showing the begging and end. At first sanae didn't think too much about the dangers, but once she took out her first youkai, bullied the second, and cheated death on the third, all youkai just started to look alike.
I ever though i'll say this....but GOOD, this was satisfying to watch after Love and Peace and the fact that it was SANAE doing the beatings made them all the more better, that little girl and the humans were avenged
