Actually makes alot of sense. Whether or not you believe that Mima is Marisa's parent in canon is one thing but Mima was a strict magic teacher.

From the dialog, it seems like it's both. She forgot to put her name down, but it doesn't matter because she would have failed anyway.

Just for the record, Mima isn't Marisa's mother in canon. In canon, Marisa had two ordinary human parents (and Rinnouske helped raise her, as well) and she wound up running away from home in order to study magic, while her father wanted Marisa to take over the family business. Mima was just Marisa's teacher.

You saying Mima isn't a human ghost? There is still no full evidence to say Mima wasn't/isn't Marisa's Mom. For the same lack of evidence that Shinki is believed by alot to be Alice's mom, there is still nothing disputing Mima's blood relation to Marisa. This is all a moot argument anyway since ZUN pretty much pretends the PC-98 series doesn't exists. But boy does he love to troll the fanbase.
