Nice to see artists that do their homework. 56-6671 is the X-15A-2, currently on display at the U.S. Air Force Museum and still holder of the manned absolute airspeed record - Mach 6.7. Would that mean the girl's a genderbent Pete Knight?

The North American X-15 was more of a spaceship than an airplane. It was controlled through vernier rockets. Awesome vehicle... Neil Armstrong flew it before entering the Apollo program.
