That's not true, unfortunately. He ALWAYS gives a reason they should be deleted. The worst part is that he changes those reasons to fit the situation!

Example: This doujin is a sample (of a HIGHLY anticipated work, but I digress), it's of poor quality and hard translated (into Chinese...). Clearly, it must be deleted.

OK, but then the REAL thing gets posted, in high quality, all original Japanese and all. Now it gets flagged for deletion because it's not proper to have a doujin on Danbooru, since it (probably) can be downloaded elsewhere...

I wish the guy would just come out straight and flag them for deletion because he don't like Touhou doujins on Danbooru. That would be honest, at least.

I can understand some of the reasons, but "Poor quality scan" is bullcrap, this picture only has some noise, which can be easily ignored or edited, for the rest, I can see every detail clearly as if I was reading the sample on physical.

People, it's a hard-translated preview. This obviously should not be here. Just wait for the C81 release. A high quality raw will be scanned, someone will upload it here, and then it will not matter if S1eth flags it because the Janitors love Imizu too and will merrily reapprove it.

But if you guys keep bitching and moaning, maybe they won't.

one time i send him a note expresing my disaggre about this ... even if is in chinese or bad quality or any excuse for him ... is still a Imuzu work and you know who damm hard is get this one from actual artists too ... to someone come and flagged for deletion ... that happen to me when i read one Minato_Hitori doujin the 5 last page was delete because some troll flagged them ... now i need to find it or wait until reapprove them too ... -_-u ...

well ... if S1eth doesn't like chinese ... then go and bought the original and end of the problems ...

Rules are Rules and just because it's Imizu's work doesn't mean it's already immune to deletion. S1eth's just following what's written down on the book. In the end though, it's still up to the mods.

Seriously, all this bitching against S1eth's getting stupid. IMO, if he has a reason, let him do it. If you hate it, stop bitching like a kid and make an appeal in the forums.

The problem with uploading hard translated anything is the possible translation errors that occur when going from Japanese to Chinese to English and the inability of our translating community to scrutinize one's work without the original reference.

Not to mention, merely being a sample, there's the off chance that the real Japanese version will show up anyway. Also, at least if they're Japanese samples, we can sometimes use those when building the completed pool later. But this is at least a willful, needless lack of patience and discretion when we intentionally upload what really are subpar scans in Chinese just because we can't wait another month or two.

Finally, although our vague doujin policy leaves it up to the uploader and approver, uploading works from Comiket and other commercial streams really isn't very kosher. It's hard to deal with sometimes, but occasionally we must suck it up and accept the possibility of some of these doujins never seeing the light of day or being translated, at least on Danbooru, whose intent is to not be an all purpose dump for all these doujins, even if they're from artists we all like.

I personally prefer the original version. Not that I know a word in Japanese, but it'll have less chance for the translation to be strayed away.

I remember when a Vietnamese group translated an English Touhou doujin. It was awful.

Looks like some can't just read the doujin and be entertained.

They have to make sure that it meets their "quality standard", and if it doesn't, they'll do whatever they can to remove it from the site and make people like me who don't give a crap about arbitrary rules/quality miss great works like this.
