    帝都上空8000m

    液冷倒立V型エンジン・高アスペクト翼・ファストバックと、日本軍機の中にあって異彩を放つ飛燕。主脚カバーにも個性を感じます。機首のラインにはDB601の眷属共通の魅力がありますが、Bf109GやMC.205のように1500馬力級の心臓を得たならばもう少し違った闘いが出来たかも知れませんね。

    This is actually historically accurate. Ki-61s were used to ram B-29 Superfortresses late in the war. There was actually a unit that utilized this tactic alone.

    Note that they were supposed to ram the aircraft. Not NECESSARILY kamikaze. And, yes, ramming was a tactic in WW2. Sometimes the ramming aircraft survived just fine, too. Probably wouldn't count too much on it with a B-29 being the target, however.
