You should try picking up the series - if a caterpillar girl doesn't freak you out, and you're curious for more, you would probably enjoy reading it... or at least, have the sense of curiosity about it that would get you addicted.
The series really reminds me most of old fairy tales (before the Victorian white-washing job making stuff kid-friendly) where you have to be VERY careful what you are wishing for when you talk to Fran, and where the difference between a good and a bad end often comes down to how perverse or narrow-mindedly focused upon self-advancement you are.
This event was only in chapter 2, so it's not like it's hard to get up to it. The later chapters tend to paint Fran in a more positive light, as there are more villains that she is merely reacting to instead of being the instigator of the problem, herself.
Anyway, I'll spoil a synopsis of the chapter, here: The girl was a stuck-up bitch who turned a nerdy guy down for not being handsome enough. Then she was hit by Fran's truck, so Fran decided to put the girl's body back together again for free, but had to use insect parts to make up for the fact that the girl's own organs were paste. After being nursed back to health by the nerdy guy she now appreciated, she finally metamorphicized into a normal-looking woman. Fran, however, had never tried this before, and didn't know what the long-term effects of mixing human with insect would be. The insect parts in her had taken over her instincts, and when she and the nerdy guy tried to have sex, her instincts told her to start eating her mate. The chapter closes with speech bubbles that makes it sound like the girl is losing her virginity and complaining about how it hurts to have something so big inside her, but then you see it's the guy moaning girl burrowing into the guy's torso to eat his intestines as he's dying.
So yeah, you PROBABLY should avoid hitting this one.

WAT!? Did she mix her up with mantis/firefly parts or something? But she looks like a caterpillar, I mean sure there's that one Hawaiian species but .....WAT!?
I'm picking this up once I get the chance, I could use a change from the usual drudgery.
Looking it up, apparently Franken Fran just ended at the 61st chapter, and was translated earlier this week.
Maybe someone will put together a torrent of the whole thing, but otherwise, it might be best to trip along the blogs that posted the translations and pick them all up before they get too buried.
Don't forget she returns in a later chapter, now mutated to such a degree that she has no semblance of humanity at all. What we can see of her cloaked figure is completely insectoid, including her 'face' (which looks like the head of a hornet). Turns out she got knocked up by the nerdy guy, with the resulting child being a huge maggot that metamorphoses into a normal human baby after nine months. This kickstarts the events of a new Fran-caused incident.

Oh, so you think so too! Was worried I was alone with that hypothesis.
