in Fire red at the safari zone, i'd run into Nidoran(m) alot, and if i threw a safari ball at it it would catch it no problem....BUT WHEN I FOUND A DAMN SHINY NIDORAN(M) SUDDENLY THE CATCH RATE FALLS TO ZERO AND HE RUNS AWAY AFTER 4 BALLS!!!!!!!!

Happened to me once.
HeartGold. Safari Zone. Shiny magneton. Immediate thought; "Shiny magnezone later!". Ran away.

I always hated Safari-only Pokemon like Scyther. So many rage until I manage to catch one.

I managed to catch a Chansey using the cheat where you are to "surf" along the line just beside Cinnabar Gym after encounter a Pokemon in Safari Zone,where Chansey can appear,thanks to my sister,when I was still playing Blue Version.
