Is she referring to Marisa or Patchouli?

I would seldom characterize Marisa as not knowing how to live life. She's very much of the Carp Diem (Seize the Day) philosophy.

True, but Alice also says that she worries there's no one else to take care of her. That would apply to Marisa more than Patchouli since she lives by herself, but Patchouli lives in the Scarlet Devil Mansion and it's Koakuma's job to make sure she's not alone.

That's what got me confused, the not living life and researching magic everyday seems to point at Patchouli more, but "no one else to take care of her" heavily implies that she lives alone, which points to Marisa.

The title (as written in the first page) says it all.
