It doesn't matter whether it's "supposed" to look like a child's drawing or not - that doesn't make it acceptable by any means, unless you suggest that badness is fine if it's done on purpose. There's plenty of illustrations themed around this webseries that are up to standards, some of which are in a similar style to the series too (post #938507, post #618513, post #694054, post #951796, post #989240, post #1032915, ...)
This and the parent post (post #2026726), however, are not. A similar-looking drawing that isn't based on this webseries would undoubtedly never pass the mod queue, for good reason. Just because it's the style of the series doesn't suddenly give it a free-pass.

Then you should just flag the entire pool. See how far that gets you.

What are you talking about? I clearly said that there's many pictures themed around the series that ARE acceptable, some even in the "style", but that these two simply aren't acceptable. What does flagging the entire pool have to do with anything I said?

This image is by the artist of the webseries himself.
So badness is acceptable but only if it's by certain people, gotcha. That's.. rather questionable, but gotcha.
even if it is stylized to look "bad", even if it is by the creator of a series, it is absolutely not the kind of quality expected from danbooru. the anatomy is wonky and the picture as a whole is objectively ugly. stylization is one thing but you can tell not a lot of care went into the picture. host in elsewhere if it matters to you THAT much, but when i want to see touhou art or KKHTA art, i expect to see quality on danbooru regardless of artist bias. this is not quality. end of story.

It is quality as each image is consistent within it's own regard as the series is supposed to be unsettling. The art expresses the nature of the series by putting it as a child's drawing. Quality by Danbooru's standards is set not just by the art style but the context delivered and conveyance with the style. If it was only about the art quality then all of the bad_anatomy tag set would be flagged and several artists would banned not by request but art standard.

there are plenty of images in the KKHTA pool that are "quality" and that's what I expect, something anywhere close to those. if it's really supposed to look like a child's drawiing, a poor one at that, do we really need it on danbooru? does it belong alongside these quality standards? the answer is no.
when bad_anatomy remains on the site, it iis because it can be overlooked enough to call the drawing "good" quality. this is not just bad_anatomy.
Something that doesn't look like my five year old sister drew it, for one. Sorry, but regardless of who drew it or what the context is, this is bad. Not "unsettling", not "stylized", just poorly-drawn. And again, it doesn't matter if this is how the series looks. If the whole series is badly drawn, art of it in the same style doesn't magically become good or acceptable. It's still bad. If you want to see it, follow the artist on pixiv, because this kind of drawing does not belong on danbooru.
Also, few other examples. Setz's comics are poorly drawn but they stay here because they are hilarious. Karaagetarou's doujins has extremely simplified and low detailed art, but I would personally find and lynch anyone who would decide to flag them.
Neither of those two draw nearly as poorly as this picture is, and if they did, then I'd flag them too. Setz does have some fairly bad drawings too though, such as post #1902127.
Just add 'sentaku-bune' to your banned tags if you don't want to see them.
Yes, you know what, let's just remove the mod queue altogether, auto-approve everything and tell people to add whatever they don't want to see to their banned tags, then. Oh wait no, it's just that certain artists get a free pass at being bad for whatever reason (presumably because they made a popular series? because apparently that matters), when the exact same picture drawn by anybody else wouldn't have nearly this many comments trying to defend it.

I guess some people just don't see charm as others do. I'd advise anbody that wants to keep these kinds of pictures to save them now, as a precaution.
