I don't quite get it either. I sort of suspect there's a gag in there, but I really don't get it.

In farming, you have what are called "Winter crops". You plant in the fall, they are hardy enough to survive the winter, and then you harvest them in the spring. This practice I guess is known as "Dual Harvesting". Or maybe it's just because you would be able to harvest both your summer and winter crops all at once.

I think it refers to the practice of dividing a parcel in two halves, and planting crops in one of them while letting the other rest and recover its nutrients.
