She can heat things, not generated raw electricity,so unless you live near a large body of water and have a steam-power electric generator you still have to pay those bills. Now Iku,on the other hand..will probably require a transformer but a better power source for your home.

Well, people always make it sound like she is actually a living, walking fusion reactor all the time the leaks radiation in every which way (which is unheard of for fusion reactors because they are supposed to be incredibly safe and efficient in principle).
Fusion reactors don't have the same catastrophic dangers as fission reactors. The fusion just stops if the reaction is no longer able to sustain itself.
Alignn said: Reactors may be safe (thanks to shielding), but fusion reactions generate a lot of radiation, IIRC, and she only controls the latter...
The energy released from a fusion reaction is actually no where near as radioactive or dangerous as fusion/fission type reactions, even in the form of a weapon. It doesn't leave behind any fallout and certain types of fusion reactions don't even produce the neutrons which are normally responsible for any radiation created from it.

Maybe no neutron radiation, but fusion still produces hell of a lot of gamma radiation. As for earthquake-proofing, yes, the reaction will stop on its own. However, since the plasma is heavily compressed to achieve a positive energy balance, failure of just one containment coil (if it's magnetic confinement) or rupture of the tokamak could release a rather large burst of superheated plasma with all the destructive power it entails.

We have to remember we are talking about magical girls who will many different kinds of energy into existence from nothing, and thanks to the laws of Gensokyo (or perhaps, lack thereof), invalidates a lot of scientific theories and explanations of exactly how Okuu's power works. But one of Gensokyo's laws does however point out that their powers can't be used in a lethal manner, and that all danmaku is non-lethal.
