Didn't really see that one coming, but I guess it fits her nature. Being a top seed for the tournament makes it seem a little weirder though. She has been in it for the money the whole time though, so she has been honest from the beginning with her intentions. I expect this page to have quite the war before all is said and done.

thing is she's had and pretty easy matches and is assuming Kaguya/Mokou would be no better (I beg to differ as I think they'd actually give her a hard time with their "Lunarian school of ass pull power ups")
Zaku_Zelo said: I REALLY want both teams involved in this to lose. Wrestling fans, can that ever happen? At all?
It's uncommon, but not unheard of. It's mostly double countouts, with the rare double disqualification.
The double pin is also possible, but in important settings (such as tournaments) that always leads to both participants being treated as if they had won.
Is she asking for the prize money or an amount of money equal to it? Because if it's the former, she has alot of confidence in Kaguya's ability to win it all.
Other musings now that I have a little bit of time to write.
- Notable that neither Remilia or Sakuya appear at all, since this affects them the most. They both entered the tournament to (a) win, and (b) face the other, and if this happens then they lose all chances of any of those things, since Reimu won't be interested in even an undercard consolation match.
- If Kaguya declines, as would initially seem to be the way she'd lean, then this revitalizes the reason for LS to get Red 75% disqualified and get us a grudge match on the final day. Suika can't be happy with how Reimu just shit on the whole tournament, and Sakuya can't be happy with how disrespectful both members of Red 75% have been to her (Reimu throwing Sakuya's mistress out the tournament door). So there's that, to make Red 75% lose without them getting beaten.
- If, on the other hand, Kaguya accepts, then barring an hours-long match where Kaguya waits forever before pinning the surrendering Reimu, this will put the Moriya and HS back on-stage. I've been wondering for a little bit about that match. Having Gassed vs. More Gassed is not going to be entertaining to the audience, so I could see Yukari declaring it a 3-on-3, where both sides find another (fresh) partner. In the spirit of "Yukari is out to dick Tenshi over", Kanako, being both a sponsor and the obvious Moriya third, could know of this in advance, leaving HS scrambling to find their third on short notice (which some extra evil stipulations that prevent them from getting Yuugi or Rin). This would enhance the Austin/McMahon thing Yukari and Tenshi have going, add participants who aren't exhausted to the upcoming match, and finally get Kanako and Iku into wrestling gear, since we haven't seen them done up yet.

But she and remi also held back a lot because of that as well. Since the opponents are immortal this time she can even use that technique she just taught herself a while back without having to worry as much about the consequences. She used it once when unconscious against Marisa/Nitori at the end of the fight and blew up the whole stage. Unfortn she hasn't named it yet for a reference
Examination of this move would suggest that if Reimu basically forfits for the money, the tournament has extra time after the next match (since the Immortals vs. Red 75% would be no more), thus forcing HS and Moriya to fight now without any real recovery time. If there is open air time, it would suggest the Final would be on this Full Moon, rather than the next (unscheduled finals to fill in one aborted semifinals match). But given that whoever won between Moriya and HS this night would be in no shape to fight the undamaged Immortals...the Immortals should win easily by default (thus getting Kaguya an easy win and Reimu her money).
The main thing stopping that now would be Kaguya's inner fangirl. Such an easy win would not do for her I would think. Also she'd know the tropes are entirely against her (underdog, massively beaten up teams tend to suddenly get stunning victory at the last second due to one things or another).
I seriously doubt Kaguya will accept, she has no reason to.
She's basically been motivated by a desire to be admired, and accepting basically puts her on total heel standing, whereas even if she loses after declining, she still looks like a hero compared to queen-bitch-Shirou-version-Reimu.
Mokou has even less reason to accept, being as she's basically just been a total hothead who would rather have the fight.
There's also the problem of Remi pretty much certainly being upset about this (but what the fuck does Shirou-Reimu care about her supposed friends?) and probably not going to accept it.
With that said, I'm still definitely rooting for Kaguya as an enjoyable devious heel.
She'll lose so that Reimu can be the "final boss", but I'm still going to root for her.
This seriously is bad script writing at it's worst. Having Reimu offer Kaguya to give her the prize money for Reimu to forfeit? What about Remilia? What is she suppose to think of this? And as I predicted everyone forgotten all about Lost Servants, go figure.

Reimu doesn't care. That's her defining trait, remember?
Or perhaps love of being able to eat, since while it was the prize money that got her into the contest, it was the lack of food that prompted her to accept Remi's demand to be partners...after X numbers of times of refusing and beating Remi up in the process (which amused both Yukari and Marisa).
That and several times during the breaks Remiu's think has been about free food.
There's also the problem of Remi pretty much certainly being upset about this (but what the fuck does Shirou-Reimu care about her supposed friends?) and probably not going to accept it.
There's the very real possibility that this was all done at Yukari's request for publicity. If Reimu is as confident about herself as she is, then she wouldn't be worried about losing, so why back out now? There's also the fact that she has Remilia as her personal maid right now because they're rooming together for the tournament, if she backs out now then she loses that since all the people from the Scarlet Mansion would be out of the tournament and thus might as well go back to living at home. The lack of a reaction from Remilia is also suspicious, as is everyone gathering in the ring like this to begin with. It's interesting that all of the teams decided to come out right after the match. Also, to further my theory that Yukari set this up, what if Kaguya is also in on it? What better way to stoke her image than to refuse a bribe?
You don't know Remilia has no reaction - we haven't seen her since Reimu grabbed the mic, and if it's offscreen, it hasn't happened yet.
For all we know, the next strip starts with Remilia screaming that Reimu just betrayed her. After all, Remi doesn't want the money, either, so why would she want to be involved in selling out like this? She gains no benefit, unless she really just wanted to be Reimu's lapdog so badly she'd sell her pride just to avoid upsetting her. (And it could be cause for a split in the pairing...)
Remi's thing was to win. Nothing else would satisfy her pride. Reimu even said something to that effect when she finally accepted (though that was to make sure Remi didn't hold her down since Reimu wanted to win the prize money, because eating bread crusts, and drinking hot water without tea leaves sort of suck).
Kaguya was trope city as Miss NEET fangirl talked into actually doing it by Keine, and having trained a lot and setup all her fans to love her, she's not in a position to win this way and feel good about it (heel or no heel). Plus her partner just trained the hell out of Tewi, so she'll be burning for a fight.
Sanae still hasn't fully recovered from the last fight, though it seems clear she's not going to just forfit the match (ahe didn't lose as there was no pin count, nor time for a ring out or anything at the end of that fight). Suwako is better off than Sanae.
The problem right now is the lack of closure for the LS vs HS fight that has been interrupted since Reimu and Remi arrived. Tenshi is correct. All the other teams should not be in the ring.

You appear to have misunderstood what I was implying. I was implying that this was a stunt done with the full knowledge that it would never be accepted, with Kaguya also involved with it. Like I said, setting it up so someone offers you a bribe in front of a crowd and you "heroically" refuse it to show how "pure of spirit" you are, is a great way to boost your publicity. As for why Reimu would do this, the heads of the tournament could have offered her money. Remilia might not have blown up right now because she's in on it, or when she blows up in the next strip, it will all be an act or maybe she isn't in on it to generate a real reaction.
Edit: And I just noticed something Kaguya said. "This isn't an apology or anything... ...but I bought some time before your match." And what Tewi said, "Even though they were aiming to drag this war out from the beginning."
Sounds an awful lot like a deliberate stunt was at least pulled in terms of getting all the teams out to the ring.

I'm not misunderstanding, my earlier response just focused on one part of your statement.
I'm saying that there's no way Remi's in on it - again, it goes against all her motivations to do so.
For the rest of your statement, I don't even really see why Yukari would want to do this, either, since it's basically just setting up Reimu to be an absolute heel, and that goes completely against what she was doing with Yuyuko in the first match by setting up all her opponents to be big "cheaters" so that she could look good by compare. It would be destroying a lot of the work she put in for most of the series. If/when Reimu wins after this, it'll leave many onlookers in disgust, and it might hurt sales, since they don't want to see Reimu win it all.
Yukari just plain has more chips riding on Reimu than she does on Kaguya. Reimu's more famous in Gensokyo, and would be the natural bigger draw.
Unless Yukari seriously went so far in debt from all the repair work she would be willing to go against a lot of her own work building Reimu up to get a quick cash-in, and went begging Kaguya for cash, it wouldn't make that much sense.
Odds are good it's Shirou's-pure-villain-Reimu just being honest because she doesn't see any reason to bother with subtlety.
Other than that, it's possible Kaguya just cut out the middleman and went straight to Reimu offering her money to do this. Why let Yukari in on a share of the take, when you know Reimu would basically be willing to say anything for the right price?
I just hope this isn't scripted in any way. Even if it isn't scripted it's already bad as it is, and if this is done on purpose then this is just trampling over all the motivation, effort, pride and any other reason to join of all the other team in a whole new level of dickery. By saying this, she not only says that the Immortals won't win against her, but also that HS and Moriya won't even win against the Immortals, let alone against her.
Someone call Iku to pierce her heavens, please.
I don't think even Yukari would set up anything like this, but let's just wait for that. We don't know what's on her mind anyway.

From what we've seen of this Reimu, she's not sticking to any script.
Finally Reimu has shown her true heelish colours. I think this means she'll lose the next match and we'll actually get Heavenly Sky vs Hourai Immortal Phoenix Volcano Combination Princess Whatever in the finals.
Does that... count as sticking out for your partner? If you give me the winnings,The Greatest of ProvocationsWh-Whoa!!!So, how about it Kaguya?I'll let you have this match.Hakurei Reimu has let loose with the mother of all declarations!!I have no idea...Episode 980: A fight sold at a premium. From the Artist's Pixiv page.was a grave insult to every other team. You dare!!She has made a formal offer to cheat; right in the center of the ring!!!What she did say however, Intentionally or not.
