That Hakurei miko is, in my opinion, the best one.
Because she fought hard, and has many scars, while other Hakurei mikos are supposely strong, but they look like they never got in a fight.

The reason Reimu looks like she never got into a fight is because she's good at dodging. ...And because of the spellcard rules, but I prefer saying that she's just too skilled.

I think the scars come from the fact that she is more of a melee fighter in an era of to the death fights where as Reimu relies more on ranged spiritual powers while fighting in spellcard duels. Plus Reimu is only about 15 years old where as the former miko looks to be about 30, so she has been fighting for about 4-5 times as long as Reimu and it would only take one or two particularly bad fights for her to get most of those scars.

The previous mikos had no reason to fight hand-to-hand with youkai, they were legally untouchable and could do whatever they wanted to. At least now, youkai can try to defend themselves, while before the SC rules there was no way to fight back the Hakurei miko without the vague risk of destroying Gensokyo.
Sure, given how Aya reacts when Reimu was kept on the Moon (and there was no hint of anyone being worried about her), it's really unlikely that "Hakurei miko dies/disappears -> Gensokyo is doomed", but is probably something only the oldest/wisest youkai know. All the others were probably told "Don't kill the Hakurei shrine maiden for any reason, even if she tries to kill you". All the others humans were probably in a similar situation since they can't be killed.

Danmaku are non-lethal, but they hurt a lot anyway. Just look at their clothes when they lose. And Alice in SWR said that she couldn't even move after Reimu defeats her. My theory is that the concept of "death" is removed from SC battles by using some weird power, but everything else (pain, loss of energy) is still there, making everyone similar to a Hourai Immortal.
Sakuya's knives are the best example of this, since she REALLY throws them, and if humans get stabbed, they REALLY die. Yukari playing with the border of life and death sounds the most plausible explanation.

So yeah, Reimu is good at dodging (but she's also incredibly lucky).
